Jersey Harmony Welcomes New Director

Jersey Harmony Chorus is proud to announce the appointment of Kat Britt as Director. Joining Sweet Adelines International in 1996, Kat has been an exuberant and proactive participant. Just six weeks after joining, Kat found herself taking a major roll in a Regional showmanship workshop as a volunteer actress, from the very beginning, making many friends and sharing her talents.

Having been a member of Somerset Valley Chorus, Millstone Valley Chorus and Hickory Tree Chorus, Kat is presently an active member in Region 15’s Harmony Celebration Chorus as well as Jersey Harmony and Region 19’s Valley Forge Chorus. She has been a baritone section leader in several of her choruses and an assistant director in Jersey Harmony, Hickory Tree and presently, in Valley Forge.

At Jersey Harmony, we’re quite familiar with Kat’s arm waving and appearance in front of the chorus, as she has directed many small chorus performances and holiday shows, given PVIs, lead countless warm-ups, and given choreography instruction.

We at Jersey Harmony love her upbeat and positive attitude, her drive, her boundless energy, her skills and musical knowledge. We’re appreciative of her sharing all the training she has accumulated attending all workshops and educational weekends and seminars made available to barbershoppers. Beginning the Director’s Certification Program in 2008, Kat expects to complete the program during 2012.

A member of many quartets through the years, Kat most recently performed with the fourth-place Region 15 quartet, The Four Baris and watch for her on stage in her new quartet, East Coast Style.

With much thanks to our brand-new director, Kat Britt, Jersey Harmony members leave our weekly rehearsals feeling we’ve accomplished something, feeling important and valued, having had fun, and HAPPY!
